In 2009, like so many of my newspaper colleagues I found myself unemployed after the 146-yr-old newspaper I worked at closed its doors and moved to a web only edition. Some 12-years later I find I’m still mourning the loss of another great American industry, the daily newspaper.

Stopped by to visit with an old friend Rusty Laurent owner/operator
of Laurent Sun Village Resort on beautiful Sun Lake in Eastern WA. Our two
girls grew up swimming and play on the shores of this hidden gem in the late
1980’s though the mid-2000.
Not so cheep eats along I-90 in Cle Elum WA. I first stopped here in 1970 with a band of long hair freaks from L.A. during a cross county trip. Nothing much has changed, food the same, prices are higher and they only take cash...
